Matthew Hobar has been a fighter since the age of 4 when he started wrestling. He won the Tulsa nationals at the age of 6 and went on to win 8 state championships as a junior wrestler. He got his purple belt in judo at the age of 14, but decided to focus on wrestling in high school. He was the only wrestler at his high school to place in state all 4 years, and he won state his junior and senior year. He was a double All American at Fargo high school nationals obtaining 7th place in both freestyle and Greco out of 150 wrestlers in his weight class. Hobar traveled to Russia to compete against European champions and Russian national champions at the age of 17. Hobar retired his wrestling career after high school and started to train Jiu-jitsu. He then began studying under the tutelage of Coach Sayif Saud & there he acquired a liking for mixed martial arts and thus his fighting career started. He is 2-0 in amateur fights and a 3-0 as a pro; winning in the first round in all of his fights but one. He has fought for big name promotions such as Fight to Win and Shark Fights. He continues to hone his game and hopes to fight in the U.F.C when the right time comes.
